Easy Protein Overnight Oats Recipe

January 13, 2017

Overnight oats is an incredibly popular recipe and once you make it, you’ll see why! It’s a great make ahead breakfast with endless ingredient combinations. Essentially, overnight oats is oatmeal, that you do not have to cook! Instead, you mix oats with liquid, such as non-dairy milk, and add fun ingredients, like vanilla extract and cinnamon, to boost the flavor. Overnight, the oats absorb the liquid and in the morning you have a delicious breakfast ready to eat! Some say overnight oats reminds them of pudding, and if you don’t care for it cold, simply heat and enjoy! I love adding chia seeds to overnight oats because it improves the texture and chia seeds add protein, fiber and healthy omega-3 fats! Orgain’s Plant Based Protein Powder is a great addition to overnight oats to boost the protein level and keep you feeling full for hours!

Thank you for the recipe!, I stopped eating oatmeal because I couldn’t figure out a way to make it taste sweet without adding sugar, I don’t like honey and didn’t want to buy any other sweeteners. I like the taste of almond milk and it works in my body better than cows milk. I can’t wait to try this because I need something for breakfast, then I can have my Orgain shake for a snack. The chocolate flavor is so good! I bought the vanilla flavor to try and when I add the flavor to the oatmeal it will even taste creamier then adding coffee creamer and better for me too!

Is protein powder a good way to make sure your body gets the protein it’s needs to be healthy when your trying to follow a vegan diet ?😕

It certainly can be, provided that you use vegan protein powder, of course.

Can this recipe also be made with Steal cut Oats?

Yes! That should still work, though the texture may be a little different. If you try it, let us know how it turns out!
