Picky Profiles: Dr. Andrew Abraham

Here at Orgain, we take pride in how picky we are. After all, it’s this very pickiness that dictates the high standard we hold our products to, for the sake of your health and ours. True, we are picky with our protein powder, just like we are picky with our ingredients … but in what other strange ways are we picky? There’s no better way to kick off our Orgain Picky Profiles than with our CEO and Founder, Dr. Andrew Abraham.


How do you contribute to Orgain’s pickiness and high standards as a company and with their protein powders and products?

I carefully source all of our ingredients, so I have be extremely picky as we want our products to be the absolute best in every way. Our suppliers have told me that I’m getting pickier and pickier every year, which I take as a compliment.

Why is Orgain’s Protein Powder better than other brands?

Plant based protein powders typically taste horrible and have the consistency of sand. We worked really hard to make our powder delicious with a smooth texture so its actually enjoyable, which is unheard of in the world of plant based powders.

How do you use your Orgain Protein Powder?

I use Orgain Protein Powder in breakfast smoothie every morning and mix it with 12 ounces of Orgain Almond Milk, Orgain 50 Superfoods Powder, half a cup of frozen blueberries, and half a frozen banana.

Tell us your strangest, funniest or most embarrassing picky moments in life.

I’m embarrassingly picky with my nightly teeth cleaning regimen. I start by flossing, then use a motor powered Waterpik, then brush my teeth for two minutes using a Sonicare, then use a natural peppermint mouthwash, and last but not least, the tongue scraper. Crazy but despite all that I still got my first cavity last year, so I’m going to kick it up a notch this year.
